24G security radar high frequency microwave PCB

With the emergence of security radars in the security market, 24 GHz frequency is also increasingly being used in security surveillance. Because radar technology is widely used in military, meteorological and aerospace fields, it has the advantages of strong anti-interference ability, high sensitivity, strong environmental adaptability and long detection range. Therefore, with the advent of low-cost, high-performance small 24 GHz radars, security radars have quickly become popular and applied.

24G security radar system operates at a frequency of 24 to 24.25 GHz and has a working bandwidth of 250 MHz, it works with the waveform of the FMCW. Due to its high frequency and short wavelength,it is determined that the RF front-end and antenna of the radar system can only use high-frequency microwave materials, and the competition in the security industry is fierce, which makes the high-frequency microwave materials not only need good performance, but also the price is moderate.

Rogers, an internationally renowned manufacturer and developer of high-frequency microwave materials, has launched two high-frequency microwave PCB materials, RO4350B hydrocarbon ceramics and RO4835 hydrocarbon ceramics for the 24G security radar market. The biggest difference between RO4350B and RO4835 is that RO4835 is added with antioxidants, which has 10 times higher oxidation resistance than traditional thermosetting materials and meets the requirements of IPC-4103 (High Speed High Frequency Substrate Specification).

RO4350B hydrocarbon ceramics and RO4835 hydrocarbon ceramics are both materials of the RO4000 series and belong to the civilian series. RO4000 series is a hydrocarbon resin and ceramic filler laminate material, which is compatible with FR4 mixed pressure, FR-4 processing technology, and lead-free soldering process, ensuring that PCB processing plants only need lower processing capability and lower Customer's PCB processing cost, compared to the traditional PTFE material has better heat treatment capacity (heat dissipation coefficient 0.6W/m/°K), low Z-axis thermal expansion coefficient (31 ppm/°C),so that it can improved reliability of through-holes, etc., and guarantee radar front end and antenna at 24GHz. In addition, it is also a UL 94 V-0 flame retardant material, which further guarantees the safety performance of the radar system.
